Having worked in the corporate environment for over 12 years, I know and understand the stresses and pressure your work force may feel.

In fact, I can speak from my own experience of working in a high pressured role, complete with high expectations, a large workload and tight deadlines; I felt overwhelmed, stressed and like I had no time to myself.  The stress built up so much that I consequently suffered from serious migraines and vertigo.  In the end, the pressure built up so much that I felt I had no other option but to resign, to maintain my mental health.

Since then, my life has taken an entirely new path and thankfully I have discovered yoga and meditation.  Had I discovered yoga (in particular Yin Yoga) while I was still working my corporate role, I believe I would have been in a better mindset to enable me to cope better with the stress, time pressure, expectations and deadlines.

From such experience, I am so passionate about maintaining the right balance in life to build better mental health and want to help your workplace find the balance that I was unable to.

In Chinese Philosophy there is a harmony, a balance; referred to as Yin & Yang. I believe this principle should be applied to our daily lives and that in order for our lives to be fully effective, we need a healthy balance. Our working lives are very 'Yang'; active, masculine, busy, full of movement and action and this is where we need to counteract, compliment and balance this with Yin; stillness, feminine, flow, peace.

Yin Yoga is the perfect practice to help your workforce find their balance.  Through long stretches that target the connective tissue that surrounds the bones, muscles and joints (fascia); the practice helps to create a stillness; space and inner harmony.  It helps one to become in tune with their body; aligning the energies of mind, body and soul.  Yin Yoga & meditation helps to bring inner clarity through creating space in the body, allowing clearer decision making and an innate ability to better deal with stress.

Ever thought about introducing yoga as part of your next business conference?

Yoga is a great way for your workforce to let go, leave inhibitions and expectations at the door and open the channels to receive, and be in the best place, physically, mentally and emotionally for the conference.

For such events, I partner with the beautiful Jane Lee Lewis.

Jane holds a deeply rooted passion for yoga, one born from an intense personal transformation. In 1995 she was physically debilitated by severe back pain and could only function with strong medication. At this time she was advised by Western medical practitioners, that she would be dependent upon medication forever. However, Yoga changed her life. A regular yoga practice not only healed her body, but also eliminated the need for medication.

Jane has been teaching yoga for 10 years and practicing yoga for more than 2 decades. She offers instruction in Vinyasa, Hatha, Roll and Release, Restorative, Yin, Yin / Yang, Fly Gym Yoga, Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga and she is also a Social Worker and Reiki Practitioner.

Her upbeat kind nature combined with extensive training allows Jane to guide her students to connect with their true nature and develop a yoga practice that supports their personal growth and lifestyle.
